Opponents of the Ince Marsh development could put on a roadshow to rally support for
their fight.

More than 300 campaigners who packed Helsby High School believe the idea would help to highlight fears over health and traffic in areas within a 10 mile radius of the site including Runcorn, Widnes, Helsby and Frodsham.

Frodsham town councillor Tony Hinkins has raised the possibility of opponents picketing the Trafford Centre and
Liverpool John Lennon Airport which come under Peel Estates portfolio.

At the meeting, people told of their fears that a 100 metre high stack, burning 600,000 tonnes of refuse-derived fuel a year tomcreate 95mw of electricity will produce harmful emissions.

Peel Holdings denies this and says the park would reprocess materials including glass, textiles, tyres, plastic,
chemical timber and electrical goods while helping to reduce landfill.

Opponents voted unanimously  to object to the plan, while Weaver Vale MP Mike Hall reiterated his call for a public inquiry.

Helsby borough councillor Les Ford called o people to write to the count's chief planning officer demanding a
revision of the plan to exclude any treatment of waste from outside Cheshire.

Consultation on the county waste plan ends on December 21st with an inquiry expected next summer and the plan adopted next autumn.

Brian Cartwright, Chairman of the Cheshire Against Incinerators (CHAIN) Group, told a meeting that there were now better ways to deal with waste.   He said incineration was not compatible with recycling

At a recent a recent town council meeting, Cllr Hinkins said  'Peel Holdings is a huge concern.   They have a
property portfolio and own the Trafford Centre and Liverpool John Lennon Airport.   That is their strength, but it could also be their weakness.     Perhaps they could be swayed if people started picketing some of these places'

The council agreed to arrange a public meeting in the new year.
